. . . neighborly advice . . .

. . . once upon a time, i had an amazing neighbor . . .
{i'm glad she's still my friend}
. . . she'd always remind us
{as the end of each month approached}
that, ahem . . .

. . . "it's time to do your visiting teaching" . . .
. . . we sort of named her
honorary relief society secretary . . .

. . . that girl was magical
with a glue gun . . .

. . . and we spent
many a late night
doing all sorts of projects . . .

. . . she learned a lot of useful stuff
during her "utah years" . . .

. . . but, for me, the best thing
she taught was
this rule of thumb . . .

. . . "plant your flowers
general conference weekend" . . .

. . . so at least i got started . . .
{still a long way to go, believe me}
. . . and, inspired by this birthday bouquet . . .
{thanks, jeff & lora}
. . . i added a little pink this year
to my usual red and white combo . . .

. . . i think i'll like it . . .
. . . thanks for the timely planting tip, frani . . .

Oh, I'm way behind! I'm jealous of your beautiful pots. I did start tearing out summer stuff. Does that count? Your colors are stunning!

I love your example and I want to follow it. I love your cute neighbor too. We came very close to planting our fall garden over the "conference" weekend, but we just got the lawn done(lovingly called pooping and seeding) and that will have to do till next weekend, then watch out! The flowers at your house are
bee-uitiful.
