10 March 2010

. . . nice stuff this week . . .

. . . started happening on sunday . . .
. . . early . . .
. . . before church . . .
. . . when really sweet friends
brought daffodils . . .
. . . aka "sunshine" they said . . .
. . . also ~ my favorite . . .

. . . then on monday . . .
. . . my roots were returned
to their rightful blondness . . .
. . . ahhhhhhh! thanks chrissy . . .

. . . tuesday . . .
. . . oh! how i wish i had a picture
of my awesome visiting teachers . . .
. . . because when i answered the doorbell . . .
. . . they were drenched . . .
. . . sopping wet . . .
. . . why? . . .
. . . they had been picking up
all the contents of my recycle bin . . .
. . . which had blown over and scattered
in the crazy wind before the rain . . .
. . . diet coke, lemonade,
and dr. pepper cans everywhere! . . .

. . . not so nice stuff . . .
. . . my vintage {that sounds better than "old"} oven . . .
. . . bit the dust . . .
. . . after 26 1/2 years . . .
. . . the verdict? ~ "not worth repairing" . . .
. . . also old: cooktop with coil burners . . .
. . . fun, eh? . . .
. . . back to nice stuff . . .
. . . these guys showed up this morning . . .
. . . to perform an ovenectomy . . .
. . . r.i.p. dear whirlpools . . .
. . . welcome to the two thousands . . .
. . . i should probably cook a little more now . . .
. . . in fact ~ now i can bake
three pans of cookies
at the same time
in one oven . . .
. . . convection, baby! . . .
. . . and look how smart
those GE profile people are . . .
. . . they hid the bottom element
in the oven floor . . .
. . . easy peasy cleanup! . . .

. . . also nice is this finished quilt . . .
. . . check out the paisley quilting . . .
. . . with variegated thread . . .
. . . the colors are kind of spring-ish . . .
. . . so ~ it's on the wall . . .
. . . it's been a week full of nice stuff so far . . .

Two things:
1. I want some of those Cadbury eggs.
2. Your kitchen looks spiffy and I know where to go to bake a whole batch of cookies at once!

HOORAY!!

Now, can't wait to see "before" and "after" pictures of our projects this weekend! ;o)

You are most definitely the queen of quilts. Works of art. Amazing! And I'm coveting your sparkly clean new DOUBLE ovens. How wonderful.

I have to have details...Just the other day I was thinking about a renovation like this in my house. What was I thinking when I didn't put in a double oven when we built our house? I even figured out where I could put my microwave (mine is above the oven like yours was!). Now I just have to wait a little while (I hope) for my oven to go out! Maybe I need to use it more so it'll die. Everything looks wonderful and your quilt is a masterpiece (as always!).

I do believe your *old* oven is exactly like mine...except mine is double. Does that mean I get a new one soon??????

Oh new stuff is FUN! And what in the world do you do with all those quilts!!??? You should make and sell table runners! I have a quilted one that I've had for years and it's on it's last leg!
