. . . a sweet tribute . . .

. . . we all felt like
the day couldn't have been nicer . . .
. . . which was exactly
how mom romney
would have wanted it . . .
. . . she was truly a gem . . .
. . . such a kind, gracious,
funny, generous,
all around lovely lady . . .

. . .  a final act of service
by handsome grandsons . . .

. . . this one was
just after brian asked
if someone "added weights
because gramma only weighed
like eighty pounds" . . .
. . . this is quite the group
when they get together . . .
. . . funny, funny cousins . . .

. . . reunited after
twenty-six+ years . . .
. . . what a happy day for them . . .

. . . my pretty girls
paying their last respects . . .

. . . surviving siblings . . .
. . . dick, rob, diane, john and bill . . .
. . . oldest to youngest,
if john and bill
would've traded places . . .

. . . twenty-six out of
thirty-five grandchildren
at the cemetery . . .
{three more were at the funeral}
. . . lots of travelers . . .
. . . from hawaii, new york,
colorado, idaho, utah . . .

. . . one big, happy family . . .

. . . we will miss our matriarch . . .
. . . she was always
the life of the party . . .

. . . 'til we meet again, gramma . . .

What a beautiful tribute to a grand lady. I can see why she must have been so proud of her posterity.

My mother passed away just a month short of her 88th birthday and five days before her 65th anniversary. Her grandsons were also carried her casket.
It is comforting to know she continues to watch over our family and we miss her so.

I hopped over here from Red Shoes. Your picture just looked like a lot of fun and I couldn't resist. The picture of your family is beautiful. When my 102 year old dad died about a year and a half ago, the expected funeral fight happened in much more enthusiasm than expected and you should see that cousin's picture. Pretty sad. ~Heavy Sigh here~ Anyhoo - love your blog. I may have to just stay here. :))
