. . . that time of year when
you crave a big pot of soup . . .
. . . the kind that warms you
from the inside out . . .
. . . that time of year when
the new crop of apples
hits the produce stands . . .
. . . all juicy and crisp . . .
. . . that time of year when
the leaves change from
the green of summer
to the fiery reds and rich golds of autumn . . .
. . . then you wake up
and realize that, wait . . .
. . . hold the phone . . .
. . . you live in arizona . . .
. . . where september = more of the same . . .
. . . so the best thing to do is
have another pool party . . .
. . . remember when the words
"pool party"
were music to your ears? . . .
. . . when you didn't cringe
at the very thought of
donning a bathing suit? . . .
. . . when you could
go down the slide
100 times in a row . . .
. . . forward . . .
. . . then backward . . .
. . . and it never got old? . . .
. . . when you spent
quality time with cousins . . .
. . . and it really didn't matter
what your hair looked like? . . .
. . . or if your plans
for a fantastic tan
never really did pan out? . . .
. . . when a cool dip was
just the ticket
on a really hot afternoon? . . .
. . . and the big people
were there just for you? . . .
. . . for piggy back rides and
tossing you miles into the air? . . .
. . . and, oops! . . .
. . . i guess big people
can have fun, too . . .
. . . remember when
wedgies
were no problem? . . .
. . . i love september . . .
. . . fall will be here soon enough . . .
. . . say, early january . . .
. . . posted especially for amanda . . .

I wish my buns were as cute as Halleigh's are! I wouldn't be ashamed to have a "snuggie" with a pair o' cheeks like those!
I ♥ FALL! I love the crispness in the morning and the apples and the soup...
and I don't remember my buns looking that cute... EVER!!!
you and the clodhop should be friends. you're both so granny-licious with your cuter than cute grandkids. and let me just say that one day I will live somewhere where the trees turn colors and its cold in september...someday...
Oh Stephanie.....I'm walking out the door to a ward BBQ at a local park. It's 78 degrees right now and tonight the low is going to be 57. The air is clean and crisp. The leaves are barely starting to change. Mums are everywhere and so are fall decorations. Okay-that was mean....but I had to rub it in a little. Come visit OKC!!!!
I love that little monkey in that suit. It kept doing that when we were with them last month. :-) I sure hope you remember to torture her with this photo when she's older. :-)
Fall... so elusive here in AZ. My Mom would have a fall breakfast as soon as there was a "cold snap" in the air. It usually happened in Mid -October or November.
Halleigh = hilarious. She was way too busy being kamikaze to even worry about that snuggie! Love her.
And I also love fall. In Utah.
Come see us for a real fall in Michigan!! We'd love to have you any time!!
BTW - Happy Birthday!!!!
Debbie
I love the post Stephanie, fall always was one of my favorite times of year. Provo Canyon in the fall is about as pretty as it gets. Hey anybody want to go to Utah?
