. . . a BIG day . . .

say a little prayer
for my husband
as he FINALLY
undergoes surgery today.
he is going to be
the proud owner/wearer/carrier of
a spinal cord stimulator
you can read all about it here
it's kind of/really
a big deal/scary.
it just has to work!

He's finally getting his surgery? That's awesome! You know, my father, not the one that lives here, but my "real" father that lives in Utah, he has had this same device in his back for several years now. I've watched him go through a lot and know a little bit about what your family is going through. Our prayers are with you. Hope everything goes okay.

I hope it all goes well and he gets to feeling better soon! Last week I was so sick and couldn't wait to feel better. So many times I thought about Bill & how he has been in much worse pain for so many years now without a break. I can't imagine that! Your family will be in my prayers.

I don't think it's normal to tear up while reading blogs (especially while at work). Today is the day! It just has to be. It's been way too long for this not to work. I can't wait for normal dad to be back again. Tyler can finally meet the real dad! YAY! I can't wait to hear how it went. We love you, mom and dad!

thanks, friends, for all your kind words, encouragement, concern, faith & prayers.

bill came home right after the surgery, which went well {or so the doctor said}.

now we wait till next week when they will actually power up the pulse generator {sounds like i know what i'm talking about, right?} and we find out how effective the unit actually is.

meanwhile, bill is still in a lot of pain ~ the original three-year-old nagging pain + the surgical pain from two incisions/chipping part of a vertebrae away to insert the electrical leads/digging through flesh/muscle to bury the processor.

all in all, it was a big day and i'm hoping that you will all continue to remember him {hey! remember me too!} in your prayers.

thanks so much. love to you all . . . steph

You do need the prayers as much as Bill does...It is so difficult as we all age, and are in a situation that we never imagined we would be in, my heart goes out to you too, you need the prayers so you can endure all the stress, and everything you go through as being the caretaker.....We will continue to keep you and your family in our prayers daily...let's hope for the best for all concerned!! Thanks for the update...I was wondering how everything went!! Describing the surgery...made me cringe in pain just thinking about it. I can't imagine how much pain, or more pain that Bill has had to endure. I am sure it is painful for you also, just knowing how hard this is for Bill...keep up the faith, and put your smile on every day...it is bound to get better!!!

We pray for you and Bill every night. I hope that the surgery went well and that he heals quickly. Keep us updated! We love you guys!

About your last post-You're a much better woman than me. I honestly don't remember the last time I pulled out the old wrinkle extractor. A good mist from the squirt bottle does just fine for me.

We went to see the Reflections of Christ tonight. Breath-taking. I saw Amanda in one of the pictures. Seriously, the spirit was so strong...and knowing people in the photos made it that much more memorable. I hope they make and sell prints....and that I win the lottery, so I can afford one ;)

I am so glad that the surgery went well! I have actually been thinking about Bill, and my mom has been asking about him. She is seeing the same doctor that he saw and is going through many of the same treatments that he has already gone through. I am so glad that you put that link to the spinal cord stimulator. It is very interresting! He is in our thoughts and prayers!

dear stuph from steph:

a friend of mine found a TDF shower invite of yours, down @ the store, in the card box. It is pink w/ a white flower. It was for Amy Smith's shower. Ring any bells? They were wondering if you knew the CUTE cursivey font that you used for those invitations? I know it was a long time ago, so no worries if ya don't remember...but they LOVED the invitation & so I just thought I'd give ya a hollar back for 'em!

just blog me.

♥, ang
