. . . morphing . . .

. . . we've lived at
the same address
for 25 years now
~ today, in fact . . .

. . . bill can't believe
i remember the exact date . . .

. . . but, here's how i know . . .
. . . amanda was born
on friday 28 october . . .

. . . the next friday,
we flew to los angeles
for my brother's wedding . . .

. . . the friday after that
we moved . . .

. . . of course i would remember
the fact that i never had a chance
to feel sorry for myself! . . .

. . . but i digress . . .
. . . here's our original entryway . . .
. . . wow! check out that wallpaper,
dark green carpet
& saltillo tile . . .

{not to mention amelia's big mouth
& drewski's bedhead}
{photos are vastly improved if you click on them}
. . . today, the stairway is two-tone,
& we finally have new carpet
& wood floors . . .

{& no wallpaper! raise the roof.}
. . . remember this? . . .
. . . the shelf hasn't moved or changed,
but everything else has . . .

{i still love my cranberry glass collection, though}
. . . we used to have a dining room,
but let's get real . . .

. . . we don't dine ~ we just eat . . .
. . . & play the piano . . .
{but we seriously need new light fixtures!}
. . . you know those puzzles
where you try to
spot the differences
in two similar photos? . . .

. . . what's different about this one? . . .
. . . look closely & you will see
the chimney is missing . . .

. . . along with not dining,
we also discovered
we hardly ever used our fireplace . . .

{what with there being on average
three days per year
where it was cold enough to build a fire,
& those being designated "no burn" days}

. . . so we took out the fireplace
& built in an entertainment center . . .

. . . we do watch tv . . .
. . . & it's great, because,
since the fireplace popped out,
so does the entertainment center
~ not taking up space in the room . . .

. . . we also knocked out
the wall at the left of this photo . . .

. . . such a pity, huh? . . .
. . . so now we have a "nosy" door . . .
. . . & an easier route
to take out the trash . . .

. . . be honest . . .
. . . please say you went through
a wallpaper phase, too . . .

. . . i'm glad to be mostly over it . . .
. . . so, although our address hasn't changed
in a quarter of a century,
our house certainly has . . .

{guess what?
tomorrow is the last post
in this fun(?)
"look into our past" series}

I loved you house then and I love your house now. There I said it. It's not a house anyway, It's a beautiful home with a great spirit there, plus, there are people we love in that home. It's morphed very well I think.

I remember all those stages and loved them all.
And peggy said it best we love the people in that home.
