. . . harvest gold, avocado green & burnt orange . . .

. . . those are the colors
my mind conjures up
when i think of fondue parties . . .
. . . ahhhhhh . . .
. . . the 70s . . .

. . . apparently ~
there's a revival going on . . .
. . . can you say melting pot? . . .
. . . so, we're having
a fondue shindig
tonight for mutual . . .
. . . my assignment? . . .
. . . chocolate . . .
. . . the recipe? . . .
. . . given to me by
. . . there's unsweetened chocolate
and espresso
and a double boiler involved . . .
. . . alas ~
i'm neither a professional
nor a caterer . . .
. . . and i don't own a double boiler . . .
. . . so, at lunch,
i asked if anyone knew
{off the top of their heads}
of an easier solution . . .
. . . being the resourceful friends they are . . .
. . . of course there's an easier solution . . .
. . . involving nestles treasures . . .
. . . the caramel variety . . .
. . . i gave up finding them
after the first three stores . . .
. . . opting, instead
for dove caramel promises . . .
. . . three bags . . .
. . . thirty-four pieces per bag . . .
. . . one hundred two ~
all needing to be unwrapped . . .
. . . one hundred one
made it to the microwave . . .
{oops}

. . . nuke for thirty seconds at a time . . .
. . . stirring after each round . . .
. . . mine took two minutes total . . .

. . . then stir in
1 1/4 cups whipping cream . . .
. . . 1/4 cup at a time . . .
. . . mixing well after each addition . . .
. . . and finish by adding
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract . . .

. . . not pictured here
are the darling sixteen-,
seventeen-
and eighteen-year-old girls
that will be digging in tonight . . .

. . . pretty sure they'll enjoy
this chocolatey,
creamy,
caramelly goodness . . .
. . . and the best part is
~ it was so easy . . .
{gotta run ~ now where did i put my platform baretrap sandals?}

That sounds amazing. I always like the easier route. However, if you ever do need a double boiler, I'd be happy to loan you mine. I generally only use it when I'm making pies.
