i loved seeing the palm trees
and old glory
waving in the breeze . . .

the temple represents my faith
and the flag represents my country,
where i am privileged to worship as i choose . . .
. . . today marked the fiftieth anniversary
of dr. martin luther king's
historic "i have a dream" speech . . .
. . . listening on the radio,
i've heard snippets of his talk all day . . .
. . . his words were powerful . . .
. . . dr. king was definitely on the right track . . .
. . . we have a loving god,
our heavenly father,
who cherishes each of us,
his precious children . . .
. . . we need to do the same . . .
