I agree...That boys going to be gone for two years! You have every right to spoil him in anyway you want until then. Nice job ironing and organizing clothes. They look great! Love, Cam
whoops.."boy's"
What a great Mom you are! He's going to appreciate you so much, not that he doesn't already. What an exciting, emotional, busy time. Good Luck Drew!!
AAGGHH-my doorways are always full of clothes too because I hang dry the majority of our clothes! He'll really miss all those clean white shirts that he didn't have to do himself!
Oh, Stephanie... Treasure every minute with Drew. We took Colten to Utah on Monday, did the SLC Temple with him, Joseph Smith Bldg, etc... and then the MTC on Wednesday He was nervous he could not even eat his Red Lobster for lunch. It is the most gut wrenching experience... I hate Provo! Not really, but today I do! My husband and I have been raising our kids for 29 years.. We came to a empty house.. No one bringing their friends home late at night to watch movies, no one going to Sonic late, no one to run to the store, no one to iron those shirts for, and the big one no " I love you Mom, Good-Night". I am lucky we have had a busy week, since Wednesday.. But can you tell today it has caught up with me? Taking the second son to the MTC in 8 months wasn't any easier than the first. Put your big girl panties on, cause it is not easy! This ride is so exciting, spiritual, but yet the most bittersweet experience I have ever gone thru. I am holding out for the Mother's Day call from both of them. Good Luck, I am looking forward to your blog reports...Yes, Colten isn't a big fan of his either.. Oh well. Have a great Sunday. Keep in touch. You will be in my prayers for sure! Hugs, Kim
PS I am adding you to my friends link on my blog!
Ahhh, lovin' all the updates on Drew. I can't believe he's old enough to be serving a mission! Seriously, where does the time go?!
Also, I love all your geraniums! They are my mom's favorite to plant as well. I've been inspired. I purchased me some pots & now I just have to get the flowers!
What a wonderful mother you are! The thought of sending off a son is difficult for me, I don't even have any!! He did such a wonderful job last week! I am so glad we got to come see him! You sure know how to throw a party!
What a lucky guy! I heard that his farewell talk was excellent...wish I could've been there for it. I can't believe little Drewsky is growing up. :o) I heard that your brother is in my parents ward. My mom said he and his wife are really nice.
We're going to miss you drew. And Steph, you need to be strong and show me how to do it, so far not so good. I have a year to go and I'm already a mess. Good to know I'm in good company. Hopefully by then you'll be able to give me some good pointers.
P.S. Is that what clean laundry looks like?
I know it was a labor of love but for the white shirts you should have gone to your local dry cleaners, I'm pretty sure they give a missionary discount. Pretty good deals from what I hear.
dear laura . . . i hate when i don't know important stuff. next time i have a missionary (NEVER!) i'm there. vista cleaners or bust! ♥steph
You are such a great mommy!
He will definitely appreciate you more when he is put in a poor area where he has to wash his clothes in a bucket by hand.
Prepare yourself now for the moment he comes home from the mission and you notice that your little boy has become a man. . . WOW,I'm crying because I have two little boys that one day I'll be sending on missions. Be grateful you only have to do this once!
By the way I don't know if my mom told you but I'm pregos again (that explains my crying. . . darn hormones) and I'm putting in an order for your oops as soon as I find out if I'm having a boy or a girl. . . it'll be around July-August when I find out.
