. . . homework, backpacks and lunchboxes are overrated . . .
. . . especially if you are
in first or second grade . . .
. . . i've come to this conclusion
five days into a nine-day
babysitting stint . . .
. . . yes, we have houseguests
~ addison and halleigh ~
while their parents are relaxing
on this little boat . . .
. . . naturally, this is the week
when "country" reports are due . . .
. . . complete with a paper doll
representing native dress . . .
. . . addi chose mexico . . .
. . . so, fortunately, we got to use
as our inspiration . . .
. . . addi named her gabriela . . .
. . . now, all that's left to do
is research and write
a one page report . . .
. . . wish us luck . . .

Oh, gabriela is lovely and boy do I remember those days. Thank heaven for Grammy to the rescue cause, holy cow, ric rac and dingle balls totally rule in country reports. Plus, it gives gabriela's sombrero a bit of a 3D effect. Extra credit!!! I have a huge non-virtual sombrero if you need it, courtesy of our Mexico missionary.
So my parents just helped me with one of my school projects...we colored and made a puzzle. Love it! Glad we could do some similar things over here...(but did Addy read you a Christmas bedtime story? Thats how I put the chillens to bed after our coloring fest.) :)
Good luck on the report. A+ for the paper doll. She's a cutie. Leave it to a wonderful grammy to have ric rac, lace, dingle balls, and of course bling to make such a fun representation! I love Gabriella's green eyes! Lucky granddaughters!
you are the BEST grandma ever....that little doll is sure to earn an A+....
gabriela is amazing! i especially enjoy her braids.
9 days??? You are a brave grandma!! Don't you love it when they come home from school - all smiles and hugs. Or at night after their bath when you get to snuggle and read a story and listen to their sweet prayers. It's the best.
i knew addi would do just fine finding stuff for her mexican doll at your house! i love gabriela. thank you for helping her!
