. . . labels . . .

. . . disclaimer: i don't really
know what i'm doing
when it comes
to computer bizness . . .

. . . once upon a time,
i took a class

. . . it was called
"how to make stuff
in microsoft word" . . .
{or something like that}
. . . and i know there're
much fancier
programs and tricks . . .
. . . use those if you know how . . .

. . . here's how i do it . . .

. . . you need to know
how to make
and insert text boxes . . .
. . . that's it . . .

. . . i make the first text box
the size i want
my finished label to be . . .
. . . this one is
5 inches by 5 inches . . .
. . . play around
with the color and style of line
until you like it . . .
. . . this one's a 12 point weight . . .

. . . i made the next text box
4.5 inches by 4.5 inches . . .
. . . with a size 15 point dotted line . . .

. . . my text box with the yellow line
- 4 point weight -
is 4.2 inches by 4.2 inches . . .

. . . the box with the aqua double line
- 8 point weight -
is 3.9 inches by 3.9 inches . . .

. . . with the addition of each text box,
i made sure to eyeball
and make sure
they were centered . . .

. . . then i made an additional box that's
 3.8 inches by 3.8 inches . . .
. . . where i typed my actual text . . .

. . . and then i printed it
{make a test copy on paper first!}
on one of these sheets
specifically designed
for inkjet printers . . .
. . . this stuff is kind of expensive . . .
. . . mine came from hobby lobby . . .
{i've also gotten it before at joann's}
. . . a package of three sheets
runs $9.99 . . .

. . . be sure to use
a 40% off coupon! . . .

. . . my best advice
on creating these labels
is just try it . . .

. . . i hope you find this helpful . . .
. . . thanks for asking, gayle! . . .

Thanks SO much for this tutorial Steph - you make the process look easy, but I'm not sure I'm up to it! LOL

Love the pics of your sewing room in the last post you wrote!

Thanks for the tutorial!! I have also taken the class...maybe more than once, and still can't figure out how to do text box things!
