. . . it only took one hour . . .

. . . i switched on the radio
at 9:47am today . . .
. . . what the heck? i thought . . .
. . . i wonder if they've started yet? . . .

. . . 99.9 kez . . .
. . . sure enough . . .
. . . continuous christmas music . . .
. . . today might have been
the first day of the season . . .
. . . i chuckled to myself
when at 10:02am,
{and yes, i really did jot down the exact time}
john lennon creepily whispered
"happy christmas yoko" . . .

. . . it's been a year
since i griped about this,
{my christmas music pros and cons}
and nothing's changed . . .

. . . i was liberally
applying undereye concealer,
when at 10:15am,
i heard the stirring lyrics
of the ever perky paul mccartney
again and again ~
"simply having
a wonderful christmas time"
ditto ditto ditto . . .

. . . at 11:04am,
i switched off the hair dryer
and those darn kids were chanting
"on this night, on this night, on this very christmas night,
on this night, on this night, on this very christmas night,
on this night, on this night, on this very christmas night,
on this night, on this night, on this very christmas night,
on this night, on this night, on this very christmas night,
on this night, on this night, on this very christmas night,
on this night, on this night, on this very christmas night,
on this night, on this night, on this very christmas night,
on this night, on this night, on this very christmas night" . . .

. . . bad things really do
come in threes . . .

. . . these are three out of four of my
very least favorite christmas songs
in one hour . . .
. . . the very first hour
of the season . . .
. . . it's going to be
a long thirty-nine days . . .

. . . on second thought . . .
. . . pandora ~ here i come! . . .

lol those are on our list of 'love to hate' ones as well, but you know what they come on the van radio so frequently that we now know all the words and actually like them in a hate'ish kind of way! :)

it's not near as fun to listen to without Bill now. I miss him. He and I retired from our morning rituals about the same time...he's just gone permanently. I hope he finds a special place up there. He made me laugh for about 18 years every morning getting ready for work.

TIME TO BREAK OUT THE BELOVED JAMES TAYLOR CHRISTMAS CD. It never fails. I don't mind a little David Archuleta thrown in too, I must confess.
